Swift on Android Is Official. Wait, What? 👀

An independent working group already had its own Swift SDK for Android running since late 2025, but bundling it directly into a numbered Swift release changes the equation — it signals long-term commitment rather than a side project, which matters a lot to developers deciding whether to invest in it.

This doesn't mean iOS apps will suddenly flood the Play Store overnight. What it does is lower the cost of reusing Swift business logic on Android instead of rewriting everything in Kotlin, making cross-platform code sharing far more realistic for teams that already have a mature Swift codebase.
